The Parish of Putney is a single parish, which has two churches (St Mary's by Putney Bridge and All Saints' on Putney Common). Some people feel most at home in one or the other but many people move between the two depending on the type and time of service. The normal pattern of services is listed below, though from time to time special events in the life of the parish or special times of year mean that the pattern may change. If you would like to read some of the recent sermons, please see the publications page

St Mary's
All Saints'

      Sunday at 08.30am
08.30am Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer) with sermon
Sunday at 10.00am   Sunday at 10.30am

This is a modern language Eucharist service with a lively feel aimed at families. It will usually last under an hour. There are songs, prayers and a short talk which seeks to enage children and adults alike.

Sunday school is available for all children from Nursery upwards and a sound proof room (the Cromwell Room) for the smaller and noisier members of the congregation.

10.30am is a Sung Eucharist in modern language.  On the first Sunday of the month the children are in church for the whole service, when an appropriate address will be given.  On other Sundays there are Sunday School groups for children aged 3 – 11

There is a room to the side of the church where a crèche is run for children under 3 yrs every Sunday (with just a few exceptions), and an area for children who need to take ‘time out’ from the service when there is no Sunday School.

The service lasts one hour and is led by the choir, but with plenty of congregational participation.  It is relaxed but traditional in style.
